Trayvon Robinson provided the big hits as the Albuquerque Isotopes held on for a 3-2 victory over the host Tacoma Rainiers on Sunday. Albuquerque won its second straight series after having gone more than a month without a series victory.

Robinson doubled and scored in the first inning for the Isotopes (30-33), who took three of five from the Rainiers (25-37). Robinson then cranked out a two-run homer in the fifth inning that put Albuquerque ahead for good.

Tacoma tried to rally in the ninth. With two outs, Humberto Quintero hit a solo home run to cut the lead to one.

Abraham Almonte, who homered back in the first inning, then singled to chase Pedro Baez from the game. Lefty Colt Hynes came in and got rehabbing Mariner Logan Morrison to ground out softly to shortstop Erisbel Arruebarrena.

Jeff Bennett (3-1) allowed just the home run to Almonte in his six innings of work. He scattered four other hits, walked just two batters and struck out five.

The Isotopes will return home to open an eight-game homestand Monday at 7:05 p.m. Albuquerque will send right-hander Zach Lee (5-5, 4.71 ERA) up against Round Rock right-hander Phil Irwin (0-1, 10.38).

Note

Arruebarrena officially joined the Isotopes on Sunday after the Dodgers demoted him on Friday. He went 0-for-5 and did make an error at shortstop. Arruebarrena had previously played at Double-A Chattanooga, meaning his Triple-A debut came after his Major League debut.
