A look at three Nittany Lions on the rise and three on the way down following PSU's 18-13 loss at Michigan ...

STOCK UP

1. LB MIKE HULL. Can the senior's stock get any higher? He was brilliant again, making plays from sideline to sideline in finishing with 11 tackles (8 solos), two tackles for loss and a pass defensed. It's been a pleasure watching No. 43 work this season.

2. CB JORDAN LUCAS. The Lions' top corner held up very well in coverage and finished with seven tackles (all solos) and two passes defensed. Thought he played more aggressively as the game wore on.

3. DE DEION BARNES. The pass rusher has consistently made plays and he showed up again vs. the Wolverines, making seven tackles and notching a sack.

STOCK DOWN

1. WR GENO LEWIS. The big-play threat (see UCF, Rutgers) was never a factor (three catches, 17 yards) and he played a limited number of snaps. According to head coach James Franklin, Lewis wasn't hurting against Michigan. The coach hinted at practice habits and other things. Strange.

2. P CHRIS GULLA. Another erratic effort from the first-year punter. Averaged 33.4 yards on five punts and his ducky 29-yarder early in the fourth quarter set up Michigan's offense at midfield for the go-ahead field goal.

3. S RYAN KEISER. You could argue Penn State's defense made one mistake against Michigan and the veteran DB made it, failing to play the ball on a deep throw from QB Devin Gardner to WR Devin Funchess that resulted in a 43-yard TD pass in the first quarter. Should have been an interception or a pass deflection.
